The Canton Youth Basketball Association (CYBA) is a non-profit educational organization, which provides a supervised program of basketball games and weekly practice sessions.      All children in grades 3-8, who are residents of Canton, are eligible to play on CYBA sponsored teams.

CYBA objectives are:

1.     To promote the play of youth basketball for the children of Canton in grades 3-8.

2.     To teach basketball skills and a basic understanding of basketball rules as administered by the IAABO basketball Rules Book (CT High School Basketball).

3.     To promote instructional and skills training activities in basketball for all players, regardless of their ability (in town teams/leagues).

4.     To promote an inter-town competitive environment (travel teams) for more skilled Canton players in appropriate inter-town leagues.

5.     To foster an environment that teaches Canton youth teamwork, good sportsmanship, and other interpersonal relationships.

6.     To prepare participants for higher level play in inter-scholastic athletic competition.

7.     To actively encourage and recruit parental involvement in CYBA activities.
